The former Gaeltec Buildings are being refurbished as a community-owned space on the Isle of Skye.
The hub is planned to include a gym, tool library with workshop facilities, childcare services and business spaces for local residents.
aes renewables installed a 13.5 kWp Solar PV system using 30 Solar PV modules and a 10 kW 3-phase SolarEdge PV inverter.
The system was designed to help power the activities within the refurbished building using clean, renewable energy.
The Solar PV system is expected to generate 10,584 kWh of electricity each year.
It gives the community hub onsite renewable generation to support the way the building will be used now and in the future.
This project works because the energy system supports a building with a clear community purpose.
By adding Solar PV as part of the refurbishment, the hub can reduce running costs and power local services with renewable energy.
