Judith and Simon Levene wanted to replace their oil heating system with a more sustainable alternative.
After attending a renewable energy event in Inverness, they were interested in an air source heat pump, but wanted reassurance it would keep their home warm through a Scottish winter.
Before making the switch, they needed clear advice and confidence that the system would suit their home.
Judith and Simon visited the aes renewables office in Dingwall to see an air source heat pump working in real life.
The team then carried out a site survey and designed a heating system centred on a Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump. The project included:
The site was kept tidy, disruption was kept low and the team responded quickly when the homeowners had questions about the controls.
After 1 full year, Judith and Simon said the system had exceeded their expectations.
Even during one of the coldest winters in recent years, the heat pump delivered steady warmth throughout the home. It gave them the reassurance they needed that moving away from oil heating had been the right decision.
“We have just gone through one of the coldest winter spells in recent times and can honestly say that we have never been so warm and toasty. The system has exceeded our hopes, and we are really delighted with it.” – Judith and Simon Levene
A well-designed heat pump can provide reliable, efficient heating while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
For Judith and Simon, the result came from careful design, the right technology and support before, during and after installation. Their home now stays warm through winter, with a system they feel confident living with every day.
