The brief

The homeowner wanted a renewable energy system that would make better use of the land available and support a more self-reliant way of using electricity at home.

The aim was to generate renewable electricity on site, store more of that energy for later use and reduce reliance on grid power.

Our approach

aes renewables designed a ground-mounted solar PV system with battery storage, shaped around the site, the available space and the homeowner’s energy needs.

The system includes a 34.43 kWp ground-mounted solar PV array, 9 SolarEdge home batteries, 90 kWh of total battery storage and a SolarEdge Backup Interface. A custom framework was also used for the ground-mounted panels.

The outcome

The completed system helps the homeowner generate renewable electricity on site and store more of that energy for use when it’s needed.

Battery storage gives the home more flexibility, while the backup interface supports greater resilience if there is a power cut.

Why it works

This project shows how solar PV and battery storage can work together for homes with suitable land available.

The ground-mounted panels create the generation capacity, while the batteries help the homeowner keep more of that solar energy for later. Together, they support a more independent and practical way to power the home.
