Our story
From the UK’s longest-established solar installer to aes renewables today
114.4 kWp
276 panels
87,450 kWh
St Columba’s Hospice Care already had solar technology on site, including 40 solar PV panels and 8 wet solar panels.
As electricity and gas costs increased, the hospice began exploring ways to increase the number of panels on its roofs.
aes renewables installed a 114.4 kWp solar PV system, using 276 solar PV modules and a 100 kW 3-phase SolarEdge inverter with optimisers.
The system was designed to increase onsite renewable generation and support the hospice’s day-to-day electricity use.
The system is expected to generate 87,450 kWh of electricity each year.
It has already replaced around 40% of the hospice’s annual electricity consumption to date, supporting both sustainability and essential care.
This project works because it connects renewable energy with a clear community purpose.
By generating more electricity onsite, St Columba’s Hospice Care can reduce its reliance on grid electricity while continuing to focus on the people and families it supports.
